Lip Sync
Taking inspiration from our music video research, we had a female to lip sync the male vocals, ironically. Her styling is purposefully masculine linking to the vocals. This was also shot in a photography studio, so we could play with the lighting and project images that are relelvant to the song e.g. 'riptide' and a street setting of 'New York City' in relation to some of the lyrics.
'Bad TV' effect overlayed over the whole of the lip singing part to reinforce the vintage feel, and additionally to reinforce the intertextual link to film star Michelle Pfeiffer, who is 'name-dropped' into the song.
After Effects
'I got lump in my throat cos'...'
Extreme close up shot, anchoring with the lyric. Additionally, we enchanced the 'Bad TV' after effect and changed the 'roll' to -15, as we thought this was best suited and connoted an distessed, vintage 90s feel that we wanted.
