Mr Probs "Waves" Analysis

Fucussing on the introduction, Mr Probs 'Waves' was one of our insperations for 'RIPTIDE' due to it being set on the beach. The first shot being an establishing bird eye tracking shot of an Island, introduces the audience to the setting of the music vedio. The theme and style of the music video matches the song as its chilled and relaxed just like the music, which is important. The camera then cuts to a close up of a tropical bird in the trees to connote to the audience that we are somewhere exoctic. We then cut to another establishing shot of waves to match the lyrics. The camera then takes an close up opon the waves showing the arms of a man stuggeling to swim this connotes the story line of the song to the audience. He then stuggles upon the sure to indicate that hes a cast away. The camera then fade into a closeup tracking shot of the main characters feet as he drags a stick along the sure with him to connote that hes weak. We especially liked this as feet connotes a jorney or steping into another chapter inspering with ideas for 'RIPTIDE' as it's a similar situation. The camera then cuts to an extreme close up of the characte's blank facial expression in addition to this we felt it was important to show emotion in our music video so the audeince can relate. The soft high key lighting agian matches the ralaxed theme making the audience feel peaceful as they begin to watch. Another aspect which we enjoyed was the editing of the camera as it cuts the silluette of the the main character focussing on the scenary

The Vamps 'Somebody To You'

The Vamps Somebody to you inspired us again due to the casual LA stlyed beach and theme but also the fun vibe it gives to the audience.  The audience are introduced to the song by no melody but a gigantic wave coming towards the screen with a bold white masthead titled "Somebody To You". We discovered that in some ways this music video is similar to One Direction's 'what makes you beautiful' giving that there isn't any real dance coriography shown and it's very relaxed as well as the location being exactly the same place. At 0:27 we are introduced to  a group of boho dressed girls walking by we were inspired by how they were styled and dressed.
