The Shoot
The seaside is at it's fairest when sunset is opon the horizan. We reseached the weather in order to see what day we would recieve the best results of a satisfying sunset and what time this would be. The colours of the sky complimented each picture taken due to the golds and oranges connotating an exotic feel giving the impression that the picture could have been taken anywhere giving it a sence of issolation. The close ups we took of the detail inbeaded in the sand shows the different textures that nature has to offer. We took one photo specifically of sand appearing to look like the inside of a tree trunk to connote that all of nature is connected. Another shot which was taken was of the sunset through a plant allowing aspects of the light to appear unbalanced also we tried to create more mystery to what was opon the horizan. The silohette of the ship crossing the sea symbolises freedom of running which is what our music video is about. Most of the extreme close ups taken connotes the beauty of nature giving attention to the things we don't have the time to appreciate or notice. The stripes in the sand symbolises the scars that even nature can be a victum of whilst the detail of shells hidden away connotes beauty that is sometime disguised and never found. The sand like cobbles can be interpridet in different ways for example, it may be fooled to look like stones or connote that it's sometimes difficult to walk along the shore but just like in life you'll not always fall as hard as you think.
In order to catch the morning tide we had to get up at 8 o-clock and travel to formby beach. Giving that these Beach photos were took in January the wind was so strong that we were able to capture fotage of huge riptides to match our music video's corus. In addition to using a professional Nickon camera we had to study and research how to take advantage of what it had to offer. This allowed us to focus the image and insure it would collect as much detail as possible so our images would be extremely HD. Taking these images of the morning sea created an entire different lighting in contrast with the evening sky. We also researched what time the tide would be in and go out to insure that we could be close to the sea without it being too dangerous. We zoomed the camera as close to the waves as possible to capture the intencity of them and conntote the whildness of nature to show how it uncrontrabley dominates the world.

Here are some of what we consider to be our best shots from the Beach. We wanted the images to appear spiritual and provide close ups of the deatail that the sea side holds that many would unotice creatinng artistic connotations.

Sunset & Weather

Giving that we live in England we had to check the weather several times to make sure it was safe to visit the beach and take photos. Most of the time the weather was unfortunately not on our side, which is why we had to plan in advance in order to complete our photoshoot and take the best quality pictures possible.

Along with the location of the beach, we dicided that we needed to take more images in order to enhance our variety of locations. This was because we needed more images for the auxiliarly products i.e the digi-pack and also the advertisement poster. When we visited the forest, we made use of all of the different settings such as the trees, different kind of leaves and even grafitti on the wall. This made us aware of the variation of images that we could contrast together in orer to create professional looking products. We feel that the images of the branches and the trees will work well with our theme, as we can relate the forest scenery to the beach. In addition, this is what we feel will work the stongest in order to create the mis-en-scene; the costume, settings and characterisitics of the characters will determine this. Overall our shoot at the forest was sucsessful as we took a large number of images that we are able to use in order to create our digi-pack and our poster advertisement.

This is our group member Lily taking images of the grafitti on the wall at the forest setting.
