THE YOUNG FOLKS

As a group, we collectively decided to choose the song riptide by Vance Joy. We chose this song choice as it portrays a fun, folkish theme that we could quickly create a music video concept to. Our initial ideas for the video once hearing the song and watching the original music video by the artist was that we wanted to produce a music video with minimal lip-singing and any lip-singing that will be done, will be done ironically as we would cast a girl to lip-sing the male vocals. The girl will also mime the 'words wrong' relating to the lyrics said. In our group meeting we also came up with ideas for settings for this music video, being mainly the beach and other natural, outside spaces. Other ideas was for editing, we thought a vintage filter and light leaks going inbetween shots would look trendy and give the music video age as if it is set in the 70s.
