Tim McGraw 'Highway Don't Care'

The Highway Don't Care by Tim McGraw ft Taylor Swift shows a story line of a girl who is driving along the 'Highway', tears are falling down her face to appear as though her heart has just been 'broken'. One aspect that mattches the key codes and conventions of a country music video is Tims styling, due to him wearing a classic stetson hat. There are several clips of Tim standing on the country roads where the heatbroken girls crashes as though the moment has been haunted and connote to the audience the narrative of the song. What makes this music video so effective is the pause of music when the girl crashes her car to add a tense dramatic effect. The editing of Taylor swifts face embelished in the care window as though she appears to be ghostly perhapsto connote that she is the girls spirtit. The Plot twist of Tim being represented as the hero at the end saving the grils life makes him appeal more to his fans/audience.

Jenna Kramer 'Whisky'

Whisky by Jenna Kramer is set in a typical country side location (Woods). It starts we a close up of a whisky glass and bottle layed next to it; the camera then tracks across Jenna's legs to show her laying on a bed with a facial expression of being deselated. Like Highway Don't Care, Whisky shows the audience a story line of a relationship with complications, given that Jenna Kramer is the main female character/victim in the story it gives her audience/fans more empaphy towards her. I notice that most of the scenes during this music video are shot in the dark and only the scenes in which Jenna is on her own are shot during the day. This may be to conote the darkness in her partner suggesting that she is at her safist being on her own. The ending shows hers 'ex' boyfriend being arrested I noticed this was shown when the music reached the climax to add dramatic effect. Its is clear that the music video Whisky meets all the key characteristics of a counrty music video constanly reminding the audience of the genre. For example, the use of a camp fire and caravan gives the music video an urban country vibe.

Brad Paisley 'Beat This Summer'

Kacey Musgraves 'Follow Your Arrow'

Follow Your Arrow by Kacey Musgraves is finally a country music video that doesn't show a story line. We are introduced to this by a tracking shot of the desert roads with out any diegetic sound. The melody begins on a medium shot of an arrow pointing down in the middle of the road then the camera tracks up to show Kacey picking it up. Follow your arrow appears to be set in one of the Texas road deserts to connote to the audience a loss and isolated feel to emphasise on the words of the song to "Follow Your Arrow". Through-out the music video there are several symbols of arrows directing Kacey Musgraves to follow her own arrow.  As for costume, Kacey is styled in classic cowboy boots and a casual white top and shots to make her appear more approuchable and relatable to the target audience giving that the song is not meant to be overally serious. Kacey's costume is slightly ajusted during one clip were a cow boy hat and guns are added at ever side of he shorts to emphasise on country music codes and conventions.

Beat This Summer by Brad Paisley represents young "love" by having the two main characters being between the ages of 8-10 who see each other at santa monica's famous carnival. This connotes to the audience that anyone can fall in love. Until 0:22 all that appears on the screen is several establishing shots of the location. Then appears a little boy staring at a blond girl who is walking by. He decides to buy her an icecream and she finally notices him. What was cleaver about this was the elements of country due to the little boy and girl riding on the carousel wearing a cowboy hat whist the camera cuts to him playing the guitar. We only see Brad Paisley near to the end wearing similar clothing to the boy which conotes to the audience that maybe he is singing about his past. What Inspire us about this music video was the tiny detail of the little girl drawig a heart in the sand symbolising the words "I love you" whithout saying it.
